The fourth incarnation of the Chrysler Voyager minivan, surpassing its predecessor in all directions, made its official debut in 2001.

Throughout the history of its "serial existence" the car has been repeatedly modernized, and the improvements affected not only the exterior and interior, but also the technical part and the list of equipment.

At factories in the United States and Austria, the one-volume machine was produced until 2007, after which its production continued in China until 2011.

The fourth "edition" Chrysler Voyager is available in two "guises" - with a standard or extended ("Grand") center distance.

The length of the car is 4808-5096 mm, height - 1803 mm, width - 1997 mm. The minivan has a wheelbase of 2878-3030 mm, and its ground clearance is 140 mm.

The curb weight of the five-door ranges from 1750 to 2030 kg, depending on the installed power unit.

Voyager of the fourth generation was offered in a large number of modifications:

  • The petrol range included in-line four-cylinder and V-shaped six-cylinder "aspirated" 2.4-3.8 liters with multi-point "power", generating 147-218 horsepower and 218-332 Nm of torque.
  • The diesel part combined turbocharged "fours" with a volume of 2.5-2.8 liters with direct injection and 16 valves, the potential of which has 143-150 hp. and 320-360 Nm of rotational recoil.

For the car, there were three options for gearboxes - 5-speed "mechanics" and 3- or 4-band "automatic".

By default, it was equipped with a front-wheel drive transmission, and some versions were equipped with an all-wheel drive system with a multi-plate clutch that connects the rear axle.

The five-door takes 10-16 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, and the maximum gains are 177-185 km / h.

Gasoline versions require 9.8-14 liters of fuel for each "hundred" in the combined cycle, and diesel - 7.8-8.4 liters.

The base for the fourth generation Chrysler Voyager is the Chrysler RG platform with a transversely oriented engine. The front axle of the minivan is equipped with an independent system with MacPherson struts and an anti-roll bar, and the rear axle is equipped with a dependent suspension secured by coil springs.
The steering complex of the "American" is represented by a rack and pinion mechanism and a hydraulic control amplifier. All wheels of the car are equipped with disc brakes (front - ventilated), supplemented by ABS and EBD.

In the secondary market of Russia, Voyager of the fourth generation in 2017 is available at a price of ~ 250 thousand rubles.

It has many advantages: reliable design, good equipment, high maintainability, roomy interior, excellent level of practicality, comfortable suspension and much more.
True, the car is not devoid of negative aspects: cheap interior decoration, high fuel consumption, poor front light, etc.
