The Skoda Kodiaq Sportline is a mid-size all-wheel drive crossover that (according to the automaker) combines the practicality and versatility of a "classic SUV" with an emotional sporty character ... It is addressed primarily to family people living in the city and leading an active lifestyle ...

The "sporty" modification of the five-door made its world debut in March 2017 at the stands of the International Geneva Motor Show (and only reached the Russian market in February 2018) - against the background of the standard "brother" it stood out only with a visual shine, while parts of technology have not changed.

Outside, it will not be difficult to identify the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline - the lower part of the bumpers and sills are painted similarly to the body, and the radiator grille, mirror housings and roof rails are made in black.

In addition, such a crossover boasts a chrome strip at the rear, depicting the exhaust pipes, and 19-inch wheels of a special design (as an option - 20-inch).

In length, the "sporty" version of the mid-size SUV extends to 4700 mm, in width it is 1882 mm (including mirrors - 2087 mm), and in height it fits in 1685 mm. The distance between the front and rear axles at the five-door reaches 2791 mm, and its ground clearance is 194 mm.

Inside, the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline proclaims its "sporty focus" with a three-spoke tapered steering wheel, bucket front seats with integrated headrests and reinforced lateral support, metal pedal pads and a combination of artificial and natural leather trim, coupled with Alcantara.

In terms of other parameters, the crossover repeats its standard "brother" - a modern design, impeccable ergonomics, high quality performance, a five- or seven-seater interior layout and a spacious trunk with a volume of 270 to 2065 liters.

The Skoda Kodiaq Sportline has the same powertrains as the regular model:

  • The petrol range consists of two four-cylinder TSI engines with a working volume of 1.4-2.0 liters with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing, which develop 150-180 horsepower and 250-320 Nm of torque.
  • Installed on SUVs and diesel - this is a 2.0-liter "four" TDI with a turbocharger, 16-valve timing and Common Rail battery, producing 150 hp. and 340 Nm of rotational potential.

All engines interact with an all-wheel drive transmission, in which a multi-plate clutch is responsible for connecting the rear wheels, but only a 1.4-liter unit is combined with a 6-range DSG "robot", and a 2.0-liter unit with a 7-speed one.

The car copes with the first "hundred" after 8-9.9 seconds, and accelerates to a maximum of 194-207 km / h (it all depends on the level of performance).

Gasoline cars consume 7.5 to 7.7 liters of fuel in combined mode, while diesel cars consume 6.1 liters.

From a constructive point of view, the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline does not differ from the basic "brother" - a front-wheel drive "bogie" MQB at the base, independent suspensions "in a circle" (front - McPherson type, rear - four-lever), rack and pinion steering with adaptive electric power and disc brakes on all wheels.

In the Russian market, the "sporty" Skoda Kodiaq in 2018 is offered at a price of 2,228,000 rubles - this is how much you have to pay for a version with a 1.4-liter "four". For a car with a turbodiesel, the minimum asking price is 2,530,000 rubles, and the option with a 180-horsepower engine will cost from 2,575,000 rubles.

Standard SUV has: six airbags, LED headlights and lanterns, heated both rows of seats and steering wheel, dual-zone "climate", 19-inch wheels, ABS, ESP, multimedia complex, high-quality "music" and many other "bells and whistles".
