Following the S30 sedan, in the spring of 2014, the Chinese automaker Dongfeng introduced the H30 Cross hatchback to the Russian market, which (due to the increased ground clearance and plastic body kit) is stylized as a crossover.

On the Russian light transport market, cars from DFM are still a wonder, so we have an excellent reason to look closely at Dongfeng H30 Cross and try to see in it a hint of the possible success of this brand in conquering the hearts of Russian fans of the Chinese car industry.

The exterior of the Dongfeng H30 Cross is based on the "contours" of the body of the Dongfeng S30 sedan, but the five-door received different bumpers, a slightly modified radiator grille, of course, a redesigned rear part of the body, plastic door sills, a spoiler and roof rails.

As a result, this car, which is essentially a hatchback, acquired the appearance of an “urban SUV”, for which it was unanimously called by journalists a “pseudo-crossover”.

The length of the Dongfeng H30 Cross is 4351 mm, the length of the wheelbase of the novelty is 2610 mm, the width of the body fits into 1760 mm, and the height rests against the mark of 1528 mm.

The minimum ground clearance (clearance) for Dong Feng N30 Cross is 175 mm - which is quite good for Russian roads and will clearly be positively received by potential buyers.

The curb weight of the hatchback does not exceed 1240 kg.

The five-seater saloon almost completely copies the interior of the Dongfeng S30 sedan, so the H30 Cross received the same: "odorous and harsh" plastic, fabric seat upholstery, a nice front panel and ...

a sufficient amount of free space both in the front and in the back row of seats.

The main difference from the sedan: a smaller trunk volume "in standard condition" - is able to accommodate 417 liters of cargo, but more with the rear row of seats folded down - up to 1137 liters.

Under the hood of the "pseudo-crossover" Dongfeng H30 Cross, Russian buyers will find only one engine option - an in-line 4-cylinder 1.6-liter unit with multipoint fuel injection and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt. This engine is capable of producing no more than 117 hp. maximum power at 6000 rpm, as well as 153 Nm of torque already at 4000 rpm.

As a checkpoint, the Chinese offer a 5-speed "mechanics" or a 4-band "automatic" from Aisin (with "sports" and "winter" modes).

In the first case, the maximum speed will be no more than 183 km / h, and with the "automatic" - 171 km / h. The manufacturer is silent about the dynamics of the car.

But the average fuel consumption in the combined cycle of operation should not exceed 7.0 liters (unless, of course, the Chinese are cunning).

Dongfeng N30 Cross shares a platform with the S30 sedan. At the front, the five-door received an independent suspension with MacPherson struts and ventilated disc brakes, and at the rear, this pseudo-crossover hatchback is equipped with a torsion bar and simple disc brakes.

The rack and pinion steering mechanism, as an assistant, received an electric power steering.

Initially, only front-wheel drive versions of the Dongfeng H30 Cross are presented on the Russian market, but in the future, the Chinese promise to bring an all-wheel drive modification.

Dongfeng H30 Cross, for the Russian market, was officially presented on April 28, 2014, and already in May, the new product entered the dealerships ... In 2017, its cost in Russia starts at 599,000 rubles.

Already in the basic configuration, the car receives: 15-inch alloy wheels, foglights, 4 airbags, air conditioning, advanced power accessories, a multimedia system with a 6.5-inch display and support for DVD / USB, ABS and EBD systems, an on-board computer, parking sensors and a central Castle.
