The first generation of the Kia Cerato sedan was released in 2004, and a few months later went into commercial production. In 2005, a hatchback joined the three-volume model. A planned update, which made minor adjustments to the exterior, interior decoration and technical part, overtook the car in 2007, at the same time the five-door body was excluded from the palette.

On the conveyor, the "Korean" held out until 2009, after which he gave way to the assignee.

KIA Cerato of the first generation is a representative of the C-class according to the European classification, and in its body range there are sedan and five-door hatchback solutions.

The total length of the car, depending on the modification, varies from 4340 to 4480 mm, but the height and width are the same in all cases - 1470 mm and 1735 mm, respectively. Between the axles of the "Korean" there is a 2610-mm section of the wheelbase, and under the bottom there is a clearance of 160 mm.

Specifications. The "First Cerato" was equipped with four powerplant options:

  • The petrol "team" united four-cylinder engines with a volume of 1.6-2.0 liters, producing from 105 to 143 horsepower and from 143 to 186 Nm of maximum torque.
  • A 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 115 "horses", releasing 255 Nm of torque, was also offered for the car.

There are two gearboxes - “mechanics” with five steps or “automatic” for four ranges, drive type - front.

The original Cerato generation is based on the Hyundai-Kia J3 front-wheel drive platform. The fully independent suspension features McPherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear.
The steering system is endowed with a rack and pinion mechanism, in which the hydraulic control amplifier is integrated.
All four wheels of the car are equipped with disc brakes with ABS technology.

Prices. In the secondary market of Russia, the 1st generation Kia Cerato in 2015 is sold at a price of 200,000 to 400,000 rubles (the cost depends on the year of manufacture, configuration and condition).

The list of advantages of the car includes: reliable design, roomy interior, good handling, as well as a good combination of "motor-gearbox".
The first generation KIA Cerato also has disadvantages: cheap plastics in the cabin, stiff suspension and poor sound insulation.
