Bentley Flying Spur is an all-wheel drive luxury F-class sedan by European standards, in which presentable design, uncompromising luxury, high-performance "stuffing" and rich equipment "coexist" ... Its target audience is wealthy men, accustomed to "take everything from life" ...

The world premiere of the second-generation four-door, which lost the "Continental" prefix in its name, was organized in March 2013 at the stands of the International Geneva Motor Show, and exactly a year later its "simplified" modification with a V8 engine debuted in the same place ... and in 2016 -m (also in Geneva) was presented a version of the "S" - distinguished by a more sporty appearance and appropriate tuning of the technical component.

In general, we can say that compared to its predecessor, the car has become even more solid in appearance and luxurious inside, received a seriously modernized technique, added "agility" and acquired new options.

Outside, the Bentley Flying Spur boasts an attractive, majestic, muscular and balanced appearance, borrowing many stylistic solutions from the two-door "brother" (for example, the front view cannot be distinguished at all).

The sedan is 5295 mm long, 1488 mm high, and 1976 mm wide. The center distance of the car extends to 3065 mm, and its ground clearance in normal condition is 110 mm (in the highest position - 135 mm).

In the equipped form, the weight of the three-volume box ranges from 2425 to 2475 kg (depending on the version).

Inside, the Bentley Flying Spur welcomes its occupants with a presentable design, impeccable ergonomics, noble finishing materials and a high-class level of performance.

The interior of the car can accommodate four or five people (two separate seats or a full-fledged sofa are installed on the second row), and the trunk holds 442 liters of luggage.

For a full-size sedan, two gasoline units are provided, which are mated with an 8-band "automatic" (with a torque converter and paddle shifters) and an all-wheel drive transmission with an asymmetric center differential Torsen (under normal conditions, the front axle takes 40% of the thrust, and the rear 60%):

  • The first is a 4.0-liter V-8 with twin turbocharging, direct injection, intake and exhaust phase shifters and 32-valve timing, available in two power levels:
    • 507 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 660 Nm of peak torque at 1700 rpm;
    • 528 h.p. at 6000 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 1700 rpm.
  • The second is a 6.0 liter W12 engine with two turbochargers, direct fuel supply and a variable valve timing mechanism, which is announced in several modifications:
    • 625 h.p. at 6000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm;
    • 635 h.p. at 6000 rpm and 820 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.

The second "hundred" four-door changes in 4.5 ~ 4.9 seconds, accelerates to a maximum of 295 ~ 325 km / h, and in the combined cycle it consumes 10.9 ~ 14.7 liters of fuel for every 100 km of run.

The backbone of the Bentley Flying Spur is the Volkswagen D1 platform, which demonstrates the longitudinal position of the power plant, as well as the widespread use of high-strength steel and aluminum in the structure.

An independent double wishbone suspension is used on the front axle of the car, and a multi-link system at the rear (in both cases - with pneumatic elements, adaptive shock absorbers and anti-roll bars).

The rack and pinion steering gear of the sedan is complemented by a power steering with an adjustable gear ratio. All three-volume wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, working in conjunction with electronic "assistants".

In Russia, the Bentley Flying Spur is offered at a price of 11,900,000 rubles for the version with a V8 engine, while the twelve-cylinder version will cost from 14,200,000 rubles.

The initial configuration of the sedan includes: nine airbags, 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and lights, electronic handbrake, media center, electric drive and heated front seats, ABS, ESP, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, zone climate control , premium audio system and more.
